Gordon Smith  > Landscapes > California > Death Valley
I first visited Death Valley in October 2006 and loved the vast open spaces and incredible landscapes. I'd read about the Racetrack and wanted to go there for several years. It was spellbinding to me. Many other fascinating and one-of-a-kind landscapes are found here: Badwater, Ubehebe Crater, Zabriski Point Badlands, Artist's Paintpots, Stovepipe Well Dunes, the Grandstand and much more. Because there's so much to see, this is a large gallery but I hope you enjoy seeing this wonderful place through my eyes.

Wanting to go again, I finally made it back in January 2009 and visited the Racetrack again. Wow, is it awesome. Some of the rocks were familiar even. I also visited Dante's view and had a great time shooting the enormous salt flats far below with a telephoto lens. Stovepipe wells sand dunes were also amazing. Enjoy with a glass of water. :)
