Gordon Smith  > Landscapes > California > Yosemite
I traveled to Yosemite National Park, to one of the birthplaces of landscape photography, and was shocked at the size of El Capitan. No picture can do it justice. What a fabulous location! The Mist Trail by Nevada and Vernal Falls gives a great commune with nature. The farther I hiked, the smaller the crowd until it was just me. Another favorite was fern falls.

Gordon Smith > El Capitan. No picture can do this justice. It is simply so massive and impressive.
Gordon Smith > Tunnel View. I liked the wispy clouds on this particular day.
Gordon Smith > Valley View. This is a combination of 2 exposures.
Gordon Smith > Cathedral Rocks. This is also a combination shot of 2 exposures.

Gordon Smith > Vernal Falls on the "Mist Trail". These falls can be enormous in the Spring, but in October, they were peaceful ribbon of water. Hiking and up the stairs but are carved out of rock requires frequent stops to catch one's breath.
