Gordon Smith  > Landscapes > Utah > Cedar Breaks in Fall Color
Cedar Breaks National Monument sits at 10,000 to 11,000 feet in elevation and is closed through much of the winter. However it is a great location for springtime flowers and for fall color because of the beautiful aspens located in the Monument. All of these shots were taken on one overcast day. There was a little bit of rain, a little bit of lightning but overall it was beautiful to see the wonderful colors. What made things even better was the beautiful sunset that came out between the clouds at the day's end.

Gordon Smith > The light just barely peeked out before disappearing on this evening. The wonderful red glow made the whole cold day worthwhile. I tried to frame this lonely tree so that it was looking out on the sunset over the canyon.
