Black and White represents a recent interest of mine. I now see how removing distracting color can strengthen a photograph by forcing the viewer to see only the shapes and composition. This can be a very powerful tool. This gallery has unrelated photo subjects that may only have their black and white processing in common.

My wife wanted a pictures of a bent and beaten nail for a class she was teaching and asked me to come up with a good photo. This took a little time and I had fun working on an artistic take of a macro subject. Hope you enjoy it.
