Current and recent work. This is a gallery for the SmugMug Daily Photo Community that posts a photo a day, typically a shot taken that day or recently. I really don't make a post every day, but I do enjoy sharing recent work with this great group and try my best

Gordon Smith > Day 29: As I continue to process the photos from this summer, I'd like to share more from my trip to Yellowstone and then Montana. This is Fairy Falls. It's a beautiful place. After a hike of about 2 miles through mosquitoes and beautiful forest, you arrive here. The mist kept the air free from mosquitoes while we were close to it and we had a nice picnic here.
Gordon Smith > Day 28: Lonely Traveler: This is perhaps my favorite shot from this magical location. This rock has a long and lonely trail and the textures of the Playa are on full display here.
Gordon Smith > Day 27: Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is one of my favorite places in the world! The colors never cease to amaze me. This was taken from the Fairy Falls trail as it looks down on Grand Prismatic.
Gordon Smith > Day 26: Aspens dancing.
Gordon Smith > Day 25: Yellowstone waterfall. I just processed this one and felt B&W was a better look than color.
Gordon Smith > Day 24: Another which I've recently processed from my trip to the Grand Canyon. When I saw this view, I was speechless. I don't really have an appropriate name for this picture. I'm not sure if words can do it justice. The Grand Canyon is something everyone should really see with their own eyes, because the pictures (no matter how many you've seen) cannot indicate how enormous it truly is.
Gordon Smith > Day 23: Yellowstone Park Wildflowers just south of Mt. Washburn during their middle summer spendor.
Gordon Smith > Day 22: I tried to take a few more pro-looking shots at home with my favorite model and friend.
Gordon Smith > Day 21: Worshipping At Woton's Throne. Another shot from my recent Grand Canyon trip, this one is my favorite of the entire trip. I just was blown away by the more beautiful sunrise of my life as I saw this. I've never seen such intense orange and pink light as the first rays hit the clouds and this incredible cliff. This one was taken several minutes after my other shot from this same location that was posted in the Daily Gallery.
Gordon Smith > Day 20: Green River Reflections of Gold. This was taken from the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park at sunrise.
Gordon Smith > Day 19: The Next to Fall. This is another shot from my recent and highly memorable trip to the Grand Canyon's North Rim. This rock looked poised to tumble any moment.
Gordon Smith > Day 17: Air show
Gordon Smith > Day 18: Grasses and the Great White Throne. Although this is a major landmark in Zion National Park, not a lot of people will take a picture of it that looks very good. I have not seen many that capture it well. This is my attempt. The Pipe Organ is on the right.
