The Subway Canyon (Left Fork North Creek) in Zion National Park is a unique hike that requires some special equipment and also a permit from the Ranger Station. This is a description with photos from the "top down" route which requires swimming, repelling, and hiking. I went with a group of friends and hope this helps to show you what our experience was like and encourage you to enjoy this great and photogenic slot canyon. You may also want to see my
Zion Landscape gallery which includes shots of the Subway during a snowstorm. That time I hiked "from the bottom up" and didn't see all the areas that are included in "top down" route here.
