Beautiful Camposanto Statue
I wish I could tell the name of this statue or who carved it. These are ancient Roman statues that are now housed in the Camposanto, an ancient cemetery next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Manet's Olympia and Titian's Venus
on display side by side. Titian inspired Manet, but Manet took many liberties in his own creation to give this classic nude a new and shocking message. This exhibit was at the Doge's palace for a very special study on Manet's work.
Doge's Palace Eve
statue face to face with the serpent. She's holding the forbidden fruit. A lone branch just happens to give her some modesty. In the distance is the towering Campanile of Saint Mark's Square.
