Private Isle
actually belonged to the Rockefeller family for many years. Sandy Cay was donated to the British Virgin Islands several years ago and is now a national park, wildlife refuge and a beautiful place to picnic.
Sandy Spit -- Black and White
As sunset neared, I climbed up to the top of an adjacent island to photograph this small dot of an island. The high winds and waves made me think that black and white processing was the best way to handle this photo.
Beautiful Sandy Spit Sunset
The channel between Sandy Spit, Green Cay, Sandy Cay and the distant island of St. John was remarkably devoid of sailboats on a gorgeous sunset. I climbed up from the base of Green Cay to make this photograph. What a beautiful moment!
Tiny Island, Wide Sea
The minuscule island of Sandy Spit has the cutest beach in all directions with a center comprising of about 12 bushes total. A couple short palm trees also grow here.

Beautiful sunset with Sandy Spit in the empty Caribbean sea.
Unreachable Shores
March 2013
Sandy Spit as seen from Green Cay. The three palm trees caught the low light as the sunset approached. Beautiful waves beat against this small speck of an island.
Green Cay Sunrise
Beautiful puffy clouds mix in the bluest sky. Another day of adventure in the British Virgin Islands.
Leaving Jost Van Dyke
by sailboat in the morning. Rough waters kept all sailors kind-of sick the next 6 hours!
