Manet's Olympia and Titian's Venus
on display side by side. Titian inspired Manet, but Manet took many liberties in his own creation to give this classic nude a new and shocking message. This exhibit was at the Doge's palace for a very special study on Manet's work.
These two couldn't keep their hands off one another while on the rocky breakwater of Riomaggiore. They were oblivious to everyone around them. The setting was very romantic at the edge of the sea

Young Student in Venice Window
This young woman sat in the Italian evening at her window. As she looked over the small canals, I passed below in a gondola. I quickly took some pictures of her. I thought this was a great example of study abroad and how it makes one reflect on our civilization.
