Gordon Smith > From the east entrance of Zion, this beautiful striated rock stands out as a great place to stop. Notice the small pinion pine growing from the rock.
Gordon Smith > This is a shot of a lesser-known waterfall in Zion national Park. It is very quiet and private.
Gordon Smith > Zion waterfall.
Gordon Smith > These are the Towers of the Virgin. Although these are readily accessible, easily seen from the museum, they are not photographed as much as they deserve. This shot was taken at dawn on Memorial Day after a storm. The clouds were clearing. I used neutral density filters to reduce the light getting into my camera, allowing me to use a shutter speed of 30 seconds. This made the clouds blend and blur beautifully.
Gordon Smith > No More Water.
Gordon Smith > Orderville Canyon. This is three shots with a 24mm tilt shift lens that were stitched together.
Gordon Smith > The Subway just above the "Shower Room"
Gordon Smith > The subway trail required a bit of swimming at times. This was deep and cold. I had to have my waterproof backpack for my camera equipment. I put all my equipment in the backpack and had to drop it 8 feet into the water below. Then I had to climb down using a rope into the deep water. And then it's time to swim under the rock you see stuck between the canyon walls!
Gordon Smith > South Temple as seen from the Spry Canyon hike (quite a stenuous hike!).
